RAJM ALIWALAS
The wonderful experiences I had at the academy have shaped me into the person I am today. The encouragement and support I received during those pivotal years of growth and development instilled a self-confidence that has helped propel me through life. The academy also fostered in me a strong work ethic and standard of excellence that has continued throughout my undergraduate degree studying Neuroscience at UCL, and in my current role as a Data Engineer Consultant working with large client companies.
MICHAEL CROGHAN
My time at the academy was a transformational one. Teachers and other staff helped me to aim for and achieve far more than I had at first thought possible when I started in Year 7. The academy has been a springboard that undoubtedly encouraged my ability to work diligently and be confident in what I do, from my undergraduate degree in Architecture at the University of Cambridge to my current occupation helping design film sets on major Hollywood movies. I will always be grateful for my time at The Palmer Catholic Academy.
STEPHANIE McKAY
I have fond memories of my time at the academy. The academy prepared me for career stepping stones by equipping me with the essential skills to progress into a young professional. The variety of subject choices and brilliant teaching allowed me to find my strengths and interests. I studied for a degree in Broadcast Journalism at Staffordshire University and worked in Dubai for eight years. I switched industry and now work in Tech as a Senior Global Key Account Manager in Munich for a SAAS company. The guidance I received at the academy, has given me the confidence to continually step outside of my comfort zone and try something new!
NIGEL NUER
The academy gave me many opportunities to personally develop, through academic and sports clubs, as well as student representation roles. This keenness to grow and try new challenging things is tough, but it helps build confidence and skillset. I carried this attitude through to my Master's degree at Bristol University and currently as a Trainee Investment Manager with a large investment bank.
DECLAN PETERS
My time at the academy shaped my character into the person I am today. The sense of family and the supportive community at the school is incredibly special, and allowed me to throw myself into my studies. I secured a place at Oxford University as part of the first generation in my family to attend university. I am involved in numerous access initiatives, including being president of Oxford University’s State School Society, The 93% Club. I hold a training contract (law school scholarship and post-university job offer) at a high profile law firm, where I hope to develop a career in intellectual property law. I will always cherish my time at the academy.
