Harry Potter Studios - Year 10 Trip

On Friday 13th December, a group of year 10 students visited the Harry Potter Studio Tour. On arrival, they were whisked behind the scenes to the studio’s classroom so that they could take part in a one hour workshop which, on this occasion, focussed on the Art of Foley. The students learned about how sound is created & laid onto film to help create the sense of realism & storytelling. They was then given a box of everyday items and encouraged to use them to create their own sound effects to lay over an extract from the first Harry Potter film. With the workshop over, the students were then taken back to the main foyer, underneath a very impressive Dragon, and they began the tour , being given a real insight into the filmmaking process.
